As this update is dated July 5th, I will mention the wildfire numbers are now different.
Provincial Statistics:
Fires to date: 998
Fires in the last two days: 65
Fires in the last seven days: 305
Northwest Fire Centre Statistics:
Fires to date: 45
Fires in the last two days: 2
Fires in the last seven days: 6
Community Wildfire Response Units
There are 8 units that were created through a partnership between Cheslatta Carrier Nation and Rio Tinto. They are equipped with fire fighting equipment and are available for the public to use in emergency situations.
