Fire Danger Rating has increased to Moderate-High because of dry Spring weather.
Higher than average number of fires (14) reported in the region (all anticipated to be human caused- some still under investigation).
This is the first issue of what will be a bi-weekly newsletter aimed at building awareness of wildfire and the work that the B.C. Wildfire Service does. Each issue will contain educational information and updates from the Northwest Fire Centre (NWFC).
Northwest Fire Centre responded to four incidents over the past week, of which two were new fires. One structure was lost due to a fire in the Nadina Zone.
ʹThe official BC Wildfire Service mobile app is now available, providing real-time wildfire information and an interactive map that users can customize to display a variety of fire-related data.
